Create your first broadcast
This tutorial creates a one-time Email broadcast for a small, consented saved Segment. It stops at a draft so you can review the result without starting a send.
Before starting, create or identify a deliberately small Demo Segment with one club boundary, active membership, and Email Consent equals Yes.
Open Broadcasts
In the Admin app, open Campaigns, then Broadcasts. Select New Broadcast.
Add the basics
Enter a name that another operator can understand later. For example:
Demo | Active members | Monthly update
Add a short description that states the business purpose. Tags are optional; use them only when your team already has a consistent tagging practice.
Select Next.
Choose the saved Segment
Keep Use existing segment, then choose the small Demo Segment prepared for this tutorial.
Read the estimated audience shown below the selector. If the count is unexpected, stop and review the Segment before continuing.
Enters a broadcast name, moves to Audience, selects the saved Demo Active Members Segment, and confirms that the estimated audience appears. No draft is saved.
The displayed estimate is the Segment’s saved count. Publishing performs a fresh count and applies send-time policy again.
Select Next.
Choose Email and write the message
Keep Email. Choose an existing Email template or select No template – write custom content.
For a custom message:
- enter a subject line;
- write the body;
- use only the personalization variables shown in FitStack;
- include the required unsubscribe link;
- check names, links, dates, and the sender’s intent.
Select Next.
Keep the draft safe
On Schedule, leave Send immediately after publishing selected. This setting does not send while the broadcast remains a draft.
Select Save Draft.
Verify the saved draft
Open the Broadcasts list and confirm:
- the name is correct;
- Status is Draft;
- the channel is Email;
- the intended Segment is shown;
- no sent metric appears.
Review before publishing
Open the draft and move through each completed step again. The publish action is the point where an immediate broadcast can begin sending, so ask a second operator to review high-impact messages.
Continue with Publish or schedule safely when the audience, content, and timing are ready.
